Last updated 15 October 2026. Short version: I collect your email only when you ask for a guide, I use it to give you the guides and to send occasional emails, and you can leave at any time.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Emre Çakan, Warsaw, Poland. Contact: hello@ecakan.com.
What I collect
When you enter your email to read a guide or join the list, I store:
- your email address
- the date and time you signed up and gave consent
- the exact consent text you agreed to: "I agree to receive this guide and occasional emails from Emre. I can unsubscribe at any time."
- which guide you signed up from
To protect the signup form from abuse, the server keeps a one way hash of your IP address for up to 24 hours. It is not linked to your email and is not used for anything else.
The site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Fonts are served from this site, not from Google.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To give you access to the full guides and send you occasional emails about new guides: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- To keep the site secure and stop spam signups: my legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- To keep a record that you consented: my legal obligation to be able to prove consent (GDPR Article 7(1)).
Who processes it
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website and the database where emails are stored. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU US Data Privacy Framework.
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania, EU) stores the email list and sends the emails.
I do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long I keep it
I keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. After that I may keep a minimal record of your consent and unsubscribe for as long as needed to prove it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or write to hello@ecakan.com.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl), or the authority in the EU country where you live.
Cookies
The site sets one strictly necessary cookie after you give your email, so you are not asked again. Details are on the cookie page.
